DeeDee Halleck
DeeDee Halleck is a media activist and founder of Paper Tiger Television and co-founder of the Deep Dish Grass Roots Satellite Network. She is Professor Emerita in the Department of Communication at the UCSD. Her film (made with Tamar Schumann) Ah! The Hopeful Pageantry of Bread and Puppet is an epic of the annual pageants from 1990 to 1999.
Halleck is a representative of the Non Commercial Users Constituency at ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers). She initiated Waves of Change, a web site/map of global community media.
